The Oceanis 40 is an unmistakable design with pleasure, comfort, and performance in mind.

She is pleasant to sail, with a reassuring feel on the water. Contemporary lines lead to a comfortable and sizeable cockpit, a vast and spacious saloon, and a large practical galley. Light, comfort, and well-being prevail on board; all things we have come to expect from Beneteau.

This boat is the best of both worlds with regard to safe sailing with a closing seat across the transom, but simple boarding from the dinghy into an open cockpit with twin steering wheels.

The traveller placed forward of the dodger allows for no moving parts in the cockpit, keeping it clear and accessible. You still get good leech control of the sail with the ability to drop the traveller to leeward and keep mainsheet tension on, keeping the power in the sail without tipping over.

This boat has been very well set up for ocean sailing. She is cutter rigged, with both headsail and staysail on furlers. There are check stays back next to the wheel to stop the mast pumping in an ocean swell. This boat was sailed from Europe through the Caribbean, Panama Canal, and across the pacific to New Zealand.

All the systems on this boat have been set up for ease of use. She has a bow thruster for easy docking in a marina, and a great electronics package for navigation upgraded in 2018.

The charging system on this boat is covered by solar power and a wind generator supplementing each other to keep the boat self-sufficient on the high seas or at anchor in a tropical destination.

The boat's hull has been custom insulated with foam and aluminum foil to make it cool in summer, warm in winter, and cut back on condensation. This boat also features an amazing enclosure around the cockpit for cold weather cruising.

Described as “one of the most popular used boats available,” the Beneteau 40 hits the sweet spot of small enough to be an easily managed, yet large enough to be utilised and outfitted for extended cruising by a couple or young family.
