A classic-looking, stoutly built cruising ketch, lovingly handcrafted over many years by Rick Haslet, an experienced boatbuilder who trained under multihull legend Dick Newick. The lines are reminiscent of some beautiful classic boats of the past. Designer Nat Benjamin, in collaboration with builder Rick Haslet drew a modern classic using modern materials and technologies. Strip-planked in western red cedar, laid up in epoxy and fibreglass and fastened with bronze ring nails, Destiny was launched at Martha's Vineyard Shipyard in front of hundreds of islanders, to bagpipes and cannon fire. Built with circumnavigation in mind, yet a joy as a daysailer, she is easily handled by a crew of two, even offshore.She has since covered thousands of miles of coastal, offshore and island cruising.
