Tight racing on our Northland doorstep in Bay Week
Bay of Islands Sailing Week never fails to provide spectacular racing and hotly contested fleets, and this year was no exception.
Hosted right outside our 36 Degrees Brokers Northland office in Opua, the event is a great chance for the racing sailors in our brokerage team to get amongst the action.
Two of our brokers took part this year; Robbs on recently commissioned Beneteau 46.1 'Checkmate' and Jason on 8.5m catamaran 'Attitude.
Many miles throughout the Bay of Islands were covered by these two in both the Island Racing and Multihull fleet, with cheerful reports from good times had on the water.
A huge increase in regatta entries this year to 141 demonstrates how popular this event is getting, and also how yachts are choosing to stick around throughout January after cruising in the Bay of Islands.
We’re proud to established in the area which is growing it’s reputation as a marine hub in Northland.
