It was another fantastic couple of days out on the water at this year’s 36 Degrees Brokers Tutukaka One Base Tournament. Annually hosted at the Whangarei Deep Sea Angler’s Club (WDSAC) in early March, the tournament, attracts anglers from all across the country for a keenly contested, fun-filled event on one of Northlands’ most beautiful coastlines.

With loads of great prizes up for grabs, 30 entered boats saw anglers rigging their gear and selecting their favourite lures in preparation for what was sure to be a whirlwind few days of fishing. 

The event delivered on an action packed competition, managing a contest tally of 14 Marlin, alongside a collection of Tuna, MahiMahi, Kingfish, Shortbill and Snapper.

TEAM MARLURE - They took out 1st Overall Team Most Points,1st Team Tag & Released Marlin and Skipper Most Points
BLUE LEGACY - Martin & the team took out 2nd Place Overall Team Most Points Marlin. 3rd Place Tag & Release Marlin and 3rd Heaviest Marlin

Lines out and towing wide during the day, a few cold ones at the WDSAC club in the evening, and some entertaining banter with mates - what more could you ask for?! We're proud to have backed this premiere fishing event, with a great turnout and much fun had in one of Northlands famed angling hot spots.
