An Evening with Beneteau: Celebrating 40 Years of Oceanis

A full house, plenty of familiar faces and four decades of Oceanis to celebrate. An Evening with Beneteau brought owners, sailors and friends of 36° Brokers together at Westhaven Marina for a night dedicated to Beneteau, past, present and future.

The weather held out, the drinks were flowing and there was a great energy in the room from the start. It was fantastic to see so many people come together for an evening centred around Beneteau, cruising and plenty of exciting things still to come.

40 Years of Oceanis

The evening gave us the chance to look back at the history of the Beneteau Oceanis range and how it has evolved since its introduction 40 years ago. From generation to generation, Oceanis has continued to develop around the way people cruise, with a focus on comfort, practical design and making time aboard easy to enjoy.

From there, attention turned to what’s coming next – and there was plenty to talk about. We introduced the new Oceanis 42, Oceanis 47 and Oceanis 52 before moving across to the latest Beneteau power models, including the Gran Turismo 40 and Gran Turismo 50 and the new Swift Trawler 43.

It was a great way to celebrate where Oceanis has come from, while giving everyone a first look at a pretty exciting line-up of new Beneteau sail and power boats coming to market.

Stories from Richard Loseby

A highlight of the evening was hearing from author and adventurer Richard Loseby.

Richard shared stories from a lifetime on the water, from owning his first Beneteau Oceanis 393 to cruising further afield through Fiji, Hawaii and beyond.

His stories brought plenty of laughs and had the room hooked, with some great conversations carrying on afterwards. Judging by the response, more than a few of his stories struck a chord. It was a real pleasure having Richard join us and share his experiences with the Beneteau community.

Good Company at Westhaven

The office stayed full well into the evening, with conversations continuing long after the presentations wrapped up. It was great to see people catching up, meeting new faces and, inevitably, talking boats.

Sea Lovers Gin, Epic Beer and United Cellars kept everyone well looked after throughout the night, with a great selection of drinks to enjoy along the way.

Celebrating 40 years of Oceanis gave us the reason to get together, but having so many of our boating community there was what made the night.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us. We loved having you there and hope to see you at the next one. Until then, happy cruising!
