It’s fair to say that Conrad has salt water running through his veins! Growing up on the Hauraki Gulf, he’s been involved in sailing all his life and even won a world championship in 2000.
However, far from just a pure sailor, Conrad has also owned several launches, even lovingly re-building a Salthouse Corsair with his own hands.
A consummate sales professional, Conrad had a stellar career in real estate before following his passion back go the sea where he helped establish and build New Zealand Multihull Solutions most successful brokerage.
In 2014, Conrad saw an opportunity for change in New Zealand’s high-end brokerage and established 36° Brokers. With an extensive monohull database, connections around the globe and a reputation for integrity and service delivery, Conrad aims to make 36° Auckland and New Zealand’s premier brokerage.

Blair McNaughton has logged 70,000 nautical sea miles throughout a career spanning 13 years – seven working on Super Yachts around the World, and the past six years working in Auckland's marine industry. His first-hand experience of the rigours a boat endures in the marine environment has built a wealth of knowledge on how to maintain and protect his clients' investment so they can enjoy peace-of-mind cruising.
He brings to 36° Brokers his knowledge of the ins and outs of maintenance, on-board systems, and a reliable network of suppliers and contractors. In addition, Blair's client relationships, many of which are long standing, are founded on integrity and good communication.
Choosing to work within the Marine Industry is a natural progression for Russell Hopper as he has grown up boating with his family on various vessels. Completing his business degree with a Marketing Major also means he brings a well-rounded skill set to the team.
Having grown up in New Zealand, he has sailed extensively around the Hauraki Gulf and surrounding islands. His earliest experiences of sailing started at age 8 at Murrays Bay sailing club with an Optimist. He progressed through all the youth yachting and in the recent years was one of the top competitors in the Young 88 class. His social sailing includes blue water crossings and skippering up to 60ft sailing catamarans across to and throughout the Pacific and the Pacific Islands.
In his free time you can almost guarantee that Russell will be either sailing or out on the water surfing. Exploring the stunning waters of the North Island or a bit further in Fiji and surrounding islands – if the surfs up, Russell will be there!
As one of 36 Degrees newest brokers, Shaun brings a sound knowledge of the high-end vessel industry which comes from a decade of working abroad and logging thousands of offshore miles across the globe.
An innate love of the sea was sparked in his youth where he competed in top-level dinghy events throughout New Zealand, and followed on to see him work on super yachts for high-profile clients overseas. This, coupled with a background in marketing means he has a firm handle on the industry and is able to spot key features which make your boat unique.
Fun fact: Shaun’s name also resides in the Guiness Book of World Records – a proud achievement from his youth in beating a fuel economy world record with one other top-sailor in a carbon fibre skiff in the Orakei Basin.
If you’re keen to chat boats, world records, and find or list your dream vessel Shaun’s your man.
Rob, or ‘Robbs’ as he’s commonly known, is the Northland broker for 36 Degrees, located at the Opua-based office in the Bay of Islands.
Bringing a friendly and personable approach to brokering in the North, Robbs enjoys talking boats almost as much as he does being on the water. His background in professional yachting and vast experience of cruising, racing, and delivering countless yachts across the globe means he has a keen knack for finding suitable vessels to match buyers needs.
When he’s not selling, listing, or talking boats, Robbs is either out on the water coaching young sailors, kitesurfing, or exploring the Bay Of Islands.
If you’re in and around Opua, pop in and say hi at the office located next to Burnsco on the wharf.
Also based at the Opua branch, Hana works on the communications side of the business.
With a background in reporting and public relations writing, and a passion for social media, Hana enjoys delivering brokerage news to valued clients and potential customers and embracing different web platforms to ensure listings and events are given as much exposure as possible.
Also a keen sailor with racing and cruising miles clocked up around New Zealand, Europe, the Caribbean, and Pacific, Hana pulls together experiences from being on the sea with an ability to relate to potential customers searching for their ideal boat.
