36 Degrees Brokers to sponsor RNZYS Commodores Cup and Squadron Weekend

36 Degrees Brokers are proud to have signed on as the official naming rights sponsors of the RNZYS Commodores Cup Series and Squadron Weekend for the next three years.

The Commodores Cup is the Squadrons longest running and most prestigious racing series on the summer sailing calendar. The series includes a range of longer distance races, including the famous Night Race to Kawau Island, the Round Kawau and Round Rangitoto races, the Race to Te Kouma on the Coromandel, and the final race of the series – the Haystack Race.

The night race to Kawau and Round Kawau Island race form the very well-known Squadron Weekend which culminates with a massive party on the lawn at Lidgard House in Smelting House Bay on the Saturday evening. The party is attended by well over 500 Members who enjoy drinks, LIVE music and a great meal offering that includes a delicious spread with food cooked on the spit.   

RNZYS General Manager Hayden Porter is excited to have 36 Degrees Brokers on board for the next three years – “We are really happy to have such an engaged sponsor on board for our most prestigious racing series and our biggest weekend of the year. The next three years are going to be very exciting for the RNZYS and I think we will see some of the biggest Squadron Weekends in the clubs history as well as some really fantastic racing in the Commodores Cup. The 36 Degrees Brokers Commodores Cup gets underway with the Round Rangitoto Race on Saturday the 10th of November.
