Mainsail Arch

All of Beneteau’s yachts over 40 feet are characterized by a mainsail arch which serves many purposes in multiple ways. By bringing the mainsheet further aft on the boom and clearing the cockpit of trailing lines, the clever designers have not only achieved success in easier and more efficient sail trimming, but a safer and bigger are in the cockpit – which is a bonus all around.

Innovation

The arch is an innovation which stands out on these vessels and is a major attraction for cruisers wanting to free up cockpit clutter and enjoy user-friendly sailing.

Extra Space

An extra drawcard to having the mainsail arch is the fact that the mainsheet traveller no longer needs to run along the coachroof and creates a larger hatch opening, which in turn allows for the popular 45-degree companionway to work.

Multi Purpose

The coachroof cover and Bimini top, available on option, are also attached to the mainsail arch and protect the cockpit from the elements. The mainsail arch is also used to house the cockpit lighting.
