First 27

Designed to race and cruise, the First 27 exceeds expectations with great performance features as well as a well optimised interior space. We all know kiwi sailors love to put up as much sail as possible, and the 27 does not disappoint with it’s further aft mast positioning and high weight to ballast ratio. This is reassured by it’s GRP vacuum-injection build and chined hull which means she remains robust and powerful while carrying the maximum amount of sail. The result? A fast, safe ride which fits a wide range of needs including regattas, family trips, and leisurely jaunts along the coastline. You decide!

EXTERIOR

Features such as the engine locker, cockpit layout, and deck gear means this boat is simple to sail while providing a fun, easily managed experience for all. With special attention to where the weight is placed, the design is intended to maximise performance and keep it clean and organised.  As with the smaller models in this range, the keel can also be lifted for beach access or to transport by trailer. Whether you’re keen to take a crew out racing, or family and friends up the coast, this is a versatile, seaworthy design which is easy to set up and sail.

INTERIOR

Inside the layout includes two single berths on either side along with a V-berth cabin which can also be used as a wet room and sail locker if under sail. Clever features include the folding companionway steps which reveal extra storage and an icebox, or an optional small refrigeration unit. The top of the keel-box can house a folding table, with folded seat also available. Crew bags attached to the hull’s interior mean personal belongings can be kept organised, and the interior can be customised in a variety of colours. All in all it makes for a clever cruiser with space to sleep 6 if required.
